Hello, my name is Landon! I am currently a math and physics undergraduate at Cameron University. I am in my third year (junior year), and am absolutely enamored with math and physics. I have undertaken research in atmospheric physics as well as taken the opportunity to study briefly at the Institute of Mathematical and Statistical Innovation in Chicago. One of my favorite things to do is to share my love and knowledge of math and physics with people, and I especially enjoy teaching people to better understand math and physics. My main idea behind tutoring is that all the results and ideas should be intuitive to the person, thus I focus largely on ensuring that those I tutor have a strong conceptually understanding of the subject, as I have found that for most applications having a conceptual understanding is what makes problems easier.

I have been tutoring since my high school years in an after school program, where I focused on teaching students from k-5th grade basic arithmetic and algebra. Going to college I managed to get a job as a tutor after a librarian noticed I was offering tutoring services for free for my peers. I have managed to tutor people in both single variable and multivariable calculus, introductory physics, thermodynamics, and so on. Typically I focus on students in one on one situation as with many of these topics, if the student does not immediately grasp the topic, they may need focused, specialized guidance to fully grasp the idea. This has led me to teaching differing subjects in a variety of ways to better fit a student's needs, such as if they tend to understand geometrical arguments more than algebraic ones, or if they need real world examples to the work that they are doing to better their conceptual understanding.

For many students studying math or physics, the course work can be intense so much so it can feel almost impossible. However, it is not impossible, with a bit of help most students are able to grow and excel in their courses.
