I have more than 14 years of teaching experience, beginning my career in 2012. I have taught students in grades 5–12 and adult learners, primarily in science, STEM, mathematics, technology, and career-focused education. I am certified by the Oklahoma State Department to teach grades 5–12 and am also CareerTech certified. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Medical Physics, a Master of Education - Secondary Education, and a Master of Education - School Admin. I am currently pursuing both an MBA and a Master of Science in Data Science and am on track to graduate with both degrees in May. I have also completed professional certifications in data science and advanced data analytics. My background in physics, mathematics, statistics, programming, business, and data analysis provides a strong foundation for tutoring traditional academic and technical subjects.
My teaching approach is centered on meeting students where they are and building from what they already understand. Over more than a decade in education, I have worked with learners across a wide range of ages, abilities, learning needs, and confidence levels. I break complicated concepts into manageable steps, use practical examples, and adjust my explanations when needed. I believe effective tutoring is about developing understanding and confidence rather than simply providing answers. I encourage students to explain their thinking so I can identify where they are stuck and address the underlying misconception.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have experience with individualized instruction, STEM projects, educational technology, programming, data science, and adult learners in career-focused settings. I currently work in higher education in institutional research and reporting, where I regularly apply analytical, quantitative, and technical skills. Whether a student needs help with foundational concepts, exam preparation, difficult homework, or problem-solving, my goal is to make challenging material understandable, practical, and approachable.
