Hello, my name is Cal. I am a former elementary teacher and district technology leader with more than a decade of experience helping students grow academically and build confidence. I began my career in the classroom, working with elementary students to strengthen foundational math and reading skills. I later served as a district technology coach and Technology Director, where I trained teachers, supported curriculum across grades K through 12, and helped implement one to one student technology programs. My focus has always been helping learners truly understand what they are doing, not just complete assignments.

As a classroom teacher, I frequently worked with students who felt frustrated or behind. I learned that most students do not struggle because they lack ability. They struggle because a concept was introduced too quickly or without the right support. My tutoring approach is structured, patient, and step by step. I identify where confusion begins, break concepts into manageable pieces, and rebuild understanding from that point forward. I tutor elementary math and reading foundations as well as middle school math through Pre Algebra and Algebra I. In reading, I emphasize fluency, comprehension strategies, and clear thinking.

I understand curriculum standards and classroom expectations, and I communicate clearly with parents about goals and progress. My goal is to create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel safe asking questions and making mistakes. When students experience small wins, their confidence grows and carries into every subject.
