Recently, I retired from 34 years of full-time teaching almost every English discipline out there. I find I miss students most, which contributed to the desire not to become an administrator; I wanted only the interaction with students.
In fact, one of my very close friends is a former student who is now 35 years old. She constantly regales me with stories from our experiences, and particularly how she learned to appreciate literature, most recently, The Old Man and the Sea. I do have past experience with tutoring.
Because it offers that one-on-one situation I enjoy so much, it really became preferable to teaching an entire class. Teaching and tutoring continue to be my way of life.
My teaching experience contains the following: K-12 through college to include adult education. I have specialized in AP Language and Literature as well as International Baccalaureate (IB), CU (Colorado University) Gold, Advanced Composition, college English 090, 121, 122, and all levels of high school honors classes.
I am a people person, particularly, with young people. I visit OSU regularly in various capacities which is delightful. I have vast knowledge of grammar and composition. Coupled with those things, I feel I could serve any of your needs even counseling as I've done many times over the years.
