I'm a certified high school math teacher in Oklahoma with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a 4.0 GPA in my Master's program in Mathematics Education at Northeastern State University. My graduate coursework includes Mathematics Pedagogy, Fundamentals of Curriculum Development, and advanced content courses in Algebra and Functions and Geometry and Measurement — work that deepens both my content knowledge and my understanding of how students actually learn math. I hold a Standard Teaching Certificate in Intermediate Mathematics and am currently working toward my Advanced Mathematics certification.

Over the past five years, I have taught Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Statistics and Probability, Math of Personal Finance, and Precalculus in a fully virtual public high school, working with students in grades 9–12 in both whole-class and one-on-one settings. Alongside my classroom work, I have five years of private tutoring experience, both virtually and in person. I was named Teacher of the Year at my school site, which reflects the investment I bring to every student I work with.

My approach is grounded in Jo Boaler's Mathematical Mindset framework, which prioritizes genuine understanding over memorizing steps. I work directly with students on their own homework and assignments, identify where gaps exist, and design personalized practice when needed. The feedback I hear most is that I make math make sense — and that's exactly what I aim for every session. Whether a student is behind, rebuilding confidence, or just needs things explained differently, I adapt to meet them where they are.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I'm a licensed math teacher with 5 years of experience teaching Algebra 1 and higher-level math courses. Algebra 1 is foundational to everything that follows, and I know exactly where students tend to lose the thread — whether it's solving equations, graphing linear functions, working with systems, or factoring polynomials. I teach full-time in a virtual high school, so online sessions are my specialty. I focus on closing gaps, building real understanding (not just memorizing steps), and helping students regain confidence in math.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I'm a licensed math teacher currently teaching high school math full-time in a virtual school setting. Algebra 2 is a core part of my curriculum — I teach it regularly and know exactly where students get stuck, from function notation and factoring to logarithms and complex numbers. I break down abstract concepts into clear, manageable steps and help students build the confidence to work through problems independently. Whether a student needs to catch up, keep up, or get ahead, I tailor each session to where they are and where they need to be.
Geometry

Geometry

I'm a licensed high school math teacher with 5 years of experience teaching Geometry and higher-level math courses. I'm well-versed in the full Geometry curriculum — proofs, angle relationships, triangle congruence and similarity, the Pythagorean theorem, circles, area, volume, and coordinate geometry. I teach full-time in a virtual school setting, so online tutoring is a natural fit. I specialize in helping students build both conceptual understanding and the test-taking skills they need to perform well on exams.
