My name is Zachari Y. I am 18 and graduated from Mustang High School and am currently enrolled in Southern Nazarene University. I have 2 years of experience as a flute tutor, 3 years of experience as an instructor, and over 7 years of experience as a professional musician, ranging from playing in malls, churches, concerts, and much more. I specialize in solos and have a deep love for the flute and music. I was awarded the title of 'Mr.Band' in 2024 and was in honor band, CODA, and wind ensemble. I've made my own music as well as played tough solos, like "Fantasia: Flemenco (Herman Beeftink)" and "Flight of the Bumblebee- (Nikolia Rimsky Korsakov)". I worked as a free flute instructor in early 2019, under my would-be high school band director, then began teaching is as a side job in late 2022.
Starting from holding the flute correctly, good poster and embouchure, and getting your first notes out to good tone, vibrato, sight-reading, and articulation\dynamics, every step of the journey will be interestingly fun and challenging. My basic approach to teaching is personalized learning, building and strengthening fundamentals, practice habits and strategies, musical expression, patience and temperance, and musical individuality. I truly believe that with enough time, practice, and dedication, anyone can become great at the flute!
