I've wanted to be a teacher as long as I can remember thinking about life after high school. Originally, I planned to attend college to become a high school English teacher. After working in a program called Junior Achievement during my senior year of high that allowed me the opportunity to work with a 3rd grade classroom, I immediately went and change my major to Early Childhood Education. I love working with children and fostering their desire to learn. Seeing the look on a child's face after they understand a difficult concept is unlike any other feeling in the world! I look forward to working with your child and building a great relationship with both you and your child as we work towards helping them be the best student they can be.
Math has been something I feel that I teach very well. During my student teaching in Youngstown City Schools, I've taught math using the Bridges program. This program aligns with the common core standards and is comparable to many other math programs used in schools all over the area.
During my time at Youngstown State University, I was fortunate enough to participate in Project PASS within the Youngstown City Schools. This program had me working one-on-one with a 2nd or 3rd student in the areas of reading, comprehension, vocabulary, and written responses to help students prepare for both the 3rd grade reading guarantee and the AIR test.
