I am a 28 year old man with a B.S.A.S. and an M.S. in criminal justice from Youngstown State University. During my undergraduate career, I specialized in legal process (criminal courts) and had a minor in political science. I took classes including (but not limited to): criminal victimization, crime and delinquency, criminal justice statistics, criminal justice information systems, legal research, criminal law, criminal evidence, and criminal procedures/constitutional issues. I maintained an undergraduate GPA of 3.32 with a criminal justice GPA of 3.56.
During my graduate career, I worked for the department of criminal justice and forensic science at Youngstown State University as a teaching assistant. As an employee, I assisted professors with research that was to be presented at both state and national conferences. I attended the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) national conferences in 2010 and 2011 where original research that I co-authored was presented. I also authored original research in the form of a thesis project with the focus on how crime drama television programs affected knowledge on the criminal justice system. I was also given the responsibility of teaching an Introduction to Criminal Justice class for any where between 35 and 100 students per semester. I wrote original exams and lectures for every class.
As a graduate student at Youngstown State University, I took classes including (but not limited to): advanced criminology, law and society, managing correctional operations, management theory, police administration, and forensic science in the criminal justice system. I maintained a 3.65 GPA as a graduate student.
I have been involved in the academics of criminal justice as both a student and an instructor. I have developed a unique teaching style that has helped students learn more about criminal justice by providing examples of concepts to help students remember said concepts more easily.
