I love helping children learn to be successful. Once they gain confidence in their own ability to learn and achieve, the possibilities are endless. I have taught students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade in whole classroom settings, small group instruction, as well as individual tutoring. I have taught students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade in whole classroom settings, small group instruction, as well as individual tutoring. As a teacher, I have taught all subjects with a focus on reading, language arts and math, grades K-8. I am experienced in providing whole group, small group, and individual diagnostic-prescriptive instruction. As a teacher and an elementary school principal, I have worked with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities, including students with IEPs (special needs) and WEPs (gifted). As an educational team leader, I have also worked with parents and other educators to develop and implement learning intervention plans for students of varied needs and abilities. Currently I am working as a Professional Learning Specialist (education consultant), supporting teachers' understanding and implementation of effective literacy and science-engineering practices, as they prepare instruction for STEM (Next Generation Science Standards) curriculum grades K-8.
