Hello! My name is Roman, and I am a freshman at Columbia University, planning to major in English and History. In high school, I scored a 1530 on the SAT and was a National Merit Scholarship Finalist.
Throughout high school, I was very honed into the college admissions process and the way it seems to get more exclusive every year! For those who feel like they need more guidance while applying (like I did) I've discovered a ton of helpful info from firsthand experience + extensive research...
For those who feel like they need more guidance while applying (like I did) I've discovered a ton of helpful info from firsthand experience + extensive research relating to the Common App essay, supplemental essays, extracurriculars, and waitlists. One strong advantage to a consultation with me is that all of this info is incredibly fresh and applicable, given that I experienced it so recently.
My strongest academic subject has always been English, and I have three years of experience in tutoring high schoolers in reading and writing skills. Ultimately, I feel that these strengths made me stand out the most during the college application process, and I'd like to use them to help students to feel more confident in their writing, to learn how to avoid common pitfalls and cliches, and to learn the rules of good argumentation and rhetoric. No matter your starting level of experience, I'm confident that we can work together and create goals for improvement!
Personally, I'm a very laid-back person and I think that if you're having trouble understanding something, the best thing to do is take a break and approach it from a different angle. Hard work doesn't have to be stressful!
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or to schedule!
