Amateur tutoring was a big part of my life even before I was blessed with my two children. Now, it is a never-ending challenge. Trying to bridge the experience between the amateur and the expert, searching for the right concepts and analogies to recreate the experience of learning and insight, are some examples of how I think about tutoring.

The most satisfying experience for the tutor is the realization that the insight has been produced in the student's soul. I have been fortunate to see this happen in many different settings and subjects.

My professional experience of 20+ years as an Ecologist reinforced my training (during University + Graduate School) to enable me to explain in a clear and simple way the most complex aspects of Ecology. The interdisciplinary aspect of Ecology (a nexus that includes biology, physics, chemistry, geology, climate, etc.) is the most exciting thing about it.

The same feeling applies when I am tutoring about philosophy. Although I have no formal training as a philosopher, I have studied and thought about philosophy since an early age, moderated philosophy forums, organized philosophy reading groups, and helped many people to find (or rekindle) their love of wisdom.

I have 25+ years of experience as an international bridge expert, having represented my home country (Brazil) in the main world championships and played with and against the best players in the world.

I also bring to the table my long experience as a bridge tutor to help the student improve their game, markedly, at any level. My current students include beginners, Life Masters, and many people in between.
