I have enjoyed the teaching and tutoring profession over the past 28 years. I have worked with students in grades 5-12 in public and private educational settings. My undergraduate training specialized on providing instruction to students with special learning needs. My graduate experience focused on a more holistic approach to children’s overall development and learning. In 2009 I completed my Masters degree in school counseling.

My approach to tutoring is to help students master core content and simultaneously build learning and Executive Functioning skills. As a college athlete I learned the benefits of self-discipline, repetition, perseverance and encouragement.
I enjoy working with students with a variety of learning needs. Whether a student’s struggling is related to a knowledge gap, learning disability, or something less tangible, my goal is to demystify learning challenges, increase self-awareness of executive functioning skills, and strengthen learning behaviors and habits.
When a student understands how they learn best they can move forward to new learning experiences with confidence. Communication is also important to me. I will provide feedback on each child’s progress identified by the family.
I have taught high school level algebra and geometry throughout my tenure. I’ve seen my students not only improve their standardized test scores but also their mental math skills.
I have developed family friendly resources to assist children in learning, practicing, and improving their executive functioning and study skills.
I have taught world studies, US history, and government throughout my tenure as a high school teacher.
I look forward to answering any questions you may have about how I can help your child!
