Hello! I am Alex and I graduated from Miami Ohio with a Major in AYA Social Studies Education, a minor in history, and a Major in German. From a young age I have been passionate about helping others and teaching. I had several teachers and mentors that helped through my own educational journey, showing me what a quality teacher does to help their students. My time at Miami Ohio and the AYA educational cohort helped to reinforce and expand my knowledge and ability to help teach others. I was introduced to multiple different methods of teaching that will help to make learning a pleasant and productive experience. This includes both explicit instruction and practice material to reinforce prior learning. Any adjustments can be made as needed.

While at Miami Ohio I was able to student observe 6th, 7th, and 9th grade history classes. In these observations I was able to lead small group discussions and help tutor individual students. My last semester at Miami I student taught 9th grade American history and helped students succeed on the state test. I have had experience teaching students with Individual Education Plans and know how to use supports and structures to aide student learning. The spring of 2026 I was a long term substitute teacher for Loveland Middle School and taught United States History.
