Hello and thank you for visiting! I am a state-licensed mathematics teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education and more than 20 years of experience teaching and tutoring. I began tutoring while attending college and have continued working with students throughout my career. Helping students grow in confidence and understanding has been the most rewarding part of my professional journey.

After earning my degree and teaching license, I taught Algebra I and Geometry in a classroom setting before moving into virtual instruction and academic support. My experience spans grades 2 through Geometry and includes classroom teaching, one-on-one tutoring, small-group instruction, and online learning environments. In addition to teaching, I have developed extensive mathematics content and learning resources aligned with state and Common Core standards.

Throughout my career, I have worked with students who needed remediation, grade-level support, enrichment, and preparation for advanced coursework. My strongest areas include elementary mathematics, pre-algebra, Algebra I, and Geometry. Because I have taught students across a wide range of ages and ability levels, I understand how mathematical skills develop from foundational concepts through higher-level problem solving. My background includes both traditional classroom teaching and large-scale virtual instruction, giving me experience supporting students from many different educational settings and learning needs.

I focus on helping students gain understanding, confidence, and independence. I tailor each session to the student's goals, whether they need homework support, test preparation, skill reinforcement, or long-term academic growth. My goal is for students not only to solve the problems in front of them but also to develop the mathematical reasoning skills they can apply far beyond a single assignment or course. I am passionate about helping learners connect new concepts to skills they already possess, making math more accessible and meaningful.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Throughout my 20+ years in education, I have taught and tutored Algebra 1 extensively in both classroom and individual settings. Algebra 1 has been a significant part of my work with middle school, high school, and intervention students, including instruction in linear equations, systems of equations, inequalities, functions, and polynomials. I have supported students at all skill levels, from those needing foundational remediation to those seeking enrichment and accelerated progress. My experience includes curriculum-aligned instruction, assessment preparation, and targeted support for students enrolled in courses requiring Algebra 1 skills.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I have more than twenty years of experience teaching and tutoring elementary math, beginning with early work supporting students in Grades 2 through 6. I have taught thousands of learners across the country in foundational areas such as number sense, operations, fractions (I LOVE fractions!), and early algebraic thinking. My background includes classroom teaching, one-on-one tutoring, small‑group instruction, and virtual teaching where I adapted explanations for students with a wide range of abilities. I also have experience developing elementary math content aligned to state and Common Core standards.
