I have been tutoring high school, middle school, and elementary students for the past several years in science and math. Specifically, I am an accomplished tutor in algebra, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, anatomy, and physiology. I am a very patient person and have a loyal following of students. I enjoy explaining concepts in different ways until my students master the material; I understand how some students can have difficulty with science and math courses and I can explain difficult concepts in a way that is easy to understand. I emphasize the importance of understanding these concepts completely rather than simply giving the answers to the question; I explain to students that in order to be successful on tests, they must apply these concepts to the different types of questions they may see for the first time. I have won several academic awards, including a coveted academic scholarship to Ohio State. I am a senior at Ohio State and I have a cumulative GPA of a 4.0. I will be graduating in the spring of 2020 with a bachelors in public health and I will be attending dental school at Ohio State in August. For the last several years, I have been a peer mentor for a general chemistry course at Ohio State. This position involves meeting with a group of students monthly and discussing study skills and other strategies to succeed in general chemistry.
