I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from La Roche University, and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Toledo. My academic background has provided me with extensive experience in chemistry, mathematics, and engineering-related coursework, including general chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, calculus, differential equations, and advanced chemical engineering topics.
I have been tutoring community college students since 2023, primarily in chemistry and mathematics. My tutoring experience has included working with students one-on-one and helping them understand course material, complete practice problems, prepare for exams, and strengthen their overall problem-solving skills. I focus on identifying where a student is getting stuck and breaking difficult concepts into smaller, more manageable steps rather than simply giving them the answer. I also adjust my explanations based on each student's learning style and level of understanding.
In addition to tutoring, I have experience working with undergraduate students in an academic setting as a graduate teaching assistant. My responsibilities have included grading assignments, answering student questions, and helping explain technical concepts related to engineering and science coursework. Through both tutoring and teaching assistant experience, I have worked with college-aged students in individual and classroom-based academic settings.
Based on my education and teaching experience, I am well prepared to tutor high school and college-level students in chemistry and mathematics, particularly general chemistry, introductory organic chemistry, algebra, precalculus, calculus, and related subjects.
