I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from La Roche University, and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Toledo. My academic background has provided me with extensive experience in chemistry, mathematics, and engineering-related coursework, including general chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, calculus, differential equations, and advanced chemical engineering topics.

I have been tutoring community college students since 2023, primarily in chemistry and mathematics. My tutoring experience has included working with students one-on-one and helping them understand course material, complete practice problems, prepare for exams, and strengthen their overall problem-solving skills. I focus on identifying where a student is getting stuck and breaking difficult concepts into smaller, more manageable steps rather than simply giving them the answer. I also adjust my explanations based on each student's learning style and level of understanding.

In addition to tutoring, I have experience working with undergraduate students in an academic setting as a graduate teaching assistant. My responsibilities have included grading assignments, answering student questions, and helping explain technical concepts related to engineering and science coursework. Through both tutoring and teaching assistant experience, I have worked with college-aged students in individual and classroom-based academic settings.

Based on my education and teaching experience, I am well prepared to tutor high school and college-level students in chemistry and mathematics, particularly general chemistry, introductory organic chemistry, algebra, precalculus, calculus, and related subjects.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have a strong background in Algebra 1, beginning with taking the course in seventh grade and continuing to use algebra extensively throughout my college mathematics and science coursework. I have also tutored college students in algebra, helping them with topics such as solving equations, graphing, inequalities, exponents, and word problems. My approach is to break problems into clear, manageable steps and explain the reasoning behind each step so students can build confidence and solve similar problems independently. My background in chemistry, mathematics, and engineering has also given me extensive experience applying algebra to real-world problems.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have a strong background in Algebra II through my high school and college mathematics coursework, as well as continued use of advanced algebra throughout my chemistry and engineering education. I have tutored college students in algebra and have experience helping with topics such as functions, systems of equations, polynomials, rational expressions, exponents, logarithms, and graphing. I focus on breaking complex problems into clear steps and helping students understand why each method works rather than relying only on memorization. My extensive use of algebra in higher-level science and engineering courses also allows me to connect concepts to practical applications.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and am currently pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering. I have been tutoring college students since 2023 and have experience helping students understand general chemistry concepts, calculations, and problem-solving strategies. My background in both chemistry and chemical engineering allows me to explain concepts from both a theoretical and practical perspective. I focus on breaking difficult topics into clear, manageable steps so students can build confidence and understand the material.
Physical Science

Physical Science

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and am currently pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering. I have been tutoring college students since 2023 and have experience helping students understand general chemistry concepts, calculations, and problem-solving strategies. My background in both chemistry and chemical engineering allows me to explain concepts from both a theoretical and practical perspective.
