My stats:
- Many years of experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages.
- Before working on websites I taught for Akron Public Schools as a sub
- Aced College Algebra and did well in Calculus
- Local & National background check processed and passed. (Not through WyzAnt, but directly through the Federal Government)

My Teaching Style:
Learning begins with understanding the client. What material do you need to cover? How do you learn best? What are your goals?

Once we establish those answers, then we can move on to figuring out the best way to cover the concepts and practice problem solving. With enough hard work and time I firmly believe you can improve your grade!

My Cancellation Policy:
If you do not give me 24 hour notice when you cancel I will charge you for the session.

Adobe Photoshop

For years, I have helped design students and photographers understand and use Photoshop. In addition, I use Photoshop myself on a regular basis to create web page content: resizing, resampling and blending different images. As a hobby, I love using different filters, transformations and plugins to create surreal photography. Photoshop is one of my passions and I would love to work with you to accomplish your goals.

Business

Microsoft Excel,

Microsoft Excel

My knowledge of Excel would rate intermediate. I have used Excel for my taxes, budgeting and analyzing political candidates. I'm comfortable using functions to perform operations on data and creating charts.
Microsoft Word,

Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word is a program I have used for a variety of writing tasks: letters, resumes and all kinds of documents. My skills include formatting, page layout and saving documents with different file extensions. I'm also pretty good at yelling at the monitor when needed.

Homeschool

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

My knowledge of Algebra spans junior high, high school and college level. For years I have helped students understand how to solve equations, graph functions and master polynomials. I am confident I can help you or your student understand and excel in Algebra.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

In Algebra 2, I have extensively tutored factoring, quadratics, polynomials, logarithms, rational equations, and radical functions. My experience also includes systems of equations, exponents, matrices, sequences and many other concepts covered in Algebra 2. If needed, I do supply students with additional practice before quizzes and finals. My students are always welcome to call me or text me with math related questions.
Geometry,

Geometry

I have helped many students turn their geometry grades around. First students must know how to solve equations since this will be incorporated into many of the problems. When it comes to building proofs I have found that it's important for students to first memorize the theorems. Then we walk through different kinds of proofs. Observing how different kinds of proofs are laid out really helps students grasp the process involved. If needed, I provide students with additional practice on any concepts before quizzes or tests.
Piano,

Piano

With ten years of experience playing piano and two years of music theory, I am prepared to tutor piano. Finger position, keeping time and key changes are important to learn in addition to reading notes and knowing how to find their corresponding keys. Music should not only be structured and challenging, it should be fun. I bring all three elements to the table.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

When it comes to Pre-Algebra I try to break each concept down so it's easy to understand. Often I will use color and pictures to help students get the concepts. Since Pre-Algebra provides a crucial foundation for high school math, it's imperative that students be able to work with integers, polynomials, proportions, know how to graph and solve order of operations. Each of these concepts will get more in depth as they continue learning. Math can be fun and interesting. :)
Precalculus,

Precalculus

Looking for help solving logarithm equations? Having a hard time with domain and range of composite functions or memorizing the unit circle? I can help. My experience includes working with high school students and college students on a variety of courses. If you are looking for help in understanding your coursework or even need help in reviewing the foundational concepts, you've come to the right place.

Trigonometry,

Trigonometry

Trig is an incredibly useful branch of mathematics. It's used by pasta designers, machinists, oceanographers and physicists. The symmetry and periodic functions are awesome! My strategy for helping students memorize the unit circle has consistently been successful. I always try to tie Trigonometry into other concepts the student already understands.

Knowledgeable and patient

Son said he learned more in 1 hour than 9 weeks at school. He is feeling better now someone knows how to explain Algebra, and be patient. Good price and great location, easy to meet with.

Great teaching style

Elizabeth was highly recommended to me from a friend whose daughter was already using her as a high school math tutor on Wyzant. My 11th grader really liked Elizabeth's teaching style. I like that she gives homework to be completed in between sessions.

Tracy, 22 lessons with Elizabeth

Excellent and pleasant tutor

Elisabeth taught me math, statistics, algebra. Helped me get "A" in my class. I have had Elisabeth tutor me for the last four years two days a week every week of the year. Because of Elisabeth, I am able to secure "A" in my classes. She is very pleasant and makes sure I learn from my heart instead of superficial learning. Elisabeth helped me get through my ACT. Elisabeth makes the time I need for my home work and my tests.

Knowledgeable and professional

Elizabeth has been helping my 16 year old daughter with trig and precalculas. She has been very well prepared, professional and patient throughout the time she’s spent with my daughter. We are continuing to utilize Elizabeth as added support in helping my daughter conquer a more challenging math course this year.

Patient, knowledgeable and encouraging tutor!

Elizabeth is an excellent tutor for my 14-year-old son. He was really struggling with his summer school lessons and she helped him in a very patient and encouraging way to gain the confidence to score well on his mid-term.
