As a Doctoral Research Scholar in Biomedical Engineering, I bring both academic excellence and real-world experience to my tutoring. With dual degrees in biomedical engineering, a minor in applied mathematics, and multiple published papers, my work spans everything from orthopedic implant design at Zimmer Biomet to machine learning applications in diagnosing diabetic complications. I’ve even led a patent for treating neonatal jaundice using sunlight in developing countries. These experiences allow me to not only teach math, science, and engineering concepts—but to connect them directly to the real-world problems they help solve.

I’ve mentored and tutored students of all backgrounds and abilities, from nursing and STEM undergrads to high schoolers and even international students—like a peer in Germany I helped succeed in physics despite a language barrier. My experience includes five years as a peer mentor, substitute teaching MATLAB to freshman engineers, and tutoring across disciplines like anatomy, physiology, calculus, thermodynamics, and even percussion. I specialize in tailoring my teaching style to the student’s learning needs—whether that’s visual, hands-on, metaphor-based, or something entirely outside the box.

Above all, I believe learning should feel empowering and personal. I know the frustration of struggling with concepts—I've been there too—and I know how transformative the right teaching approach can be. Whether you’re trying to pass a class or deepen your understanding, my goal is to help you unlock confidence, clarity, and a new excitement for learning.

Very knowledgeable and patient tutor. Overall amazing!

Jessi was an amazing tutor who helped me understand my Materials class much better. She made difficult topics easy to grasp and was always very patient. I really appreciated how she encouraged me to ask questions and never made me feel uncomfortable for not understanding something right away. If I didn’t get a concept, she would explain it in several different ways until it finally clicked. Overall, she’s an excellent tutor, and I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to truly understand the material and feel supported throughout the learning process.
