Hello! My name is Cynthia Amoah and I am a spoken word artist and educator. I completed my Masters in Fine Arts at The New School in NYC and have been featured on the stages of TEDxDrewUniversity and TEDxOhioStateUniversity, to name a few.

I began my teaching career in graduate school when I was selected
to work with a group of inner city middle school children who exhibited advanced creative abilities and talents. From there, I went on to gain hands-on experience working with a program that assists a high population of international college students to better clarify their English-speaking skills. Outside of the classroom, I also run fun creative writing workshops for high school students and/or adults looking to learn more about creative writing. As a result, my experience has afforded me the opportunity to teach and tutor students at varied ages and learning capacities.

Being a teaching artist is an asset that makes me unique. I like to integrate much of my performance and artist experience into everything I do, whether it's adjusting to student needs, asking key questions that will motivate students, and inspiring change within them. I plan on contributing to the educational world by tutoring in and teaching the tools that empowered me to find my exact voice: creative writing and performance. I love to teach and tutor in different areas of creative writing, personal development, public speaking, mindfulness and life skills.

When not found teaching, writing or performing, I enjoy eating wheat thins and traveling the world where the "moody weather" of Ohio cannot find me! :)

I am a professional spoken word artist and completed my MFA in poetry at The New School in NYC.
