Hello! I am currently a 1st grade teacher. I have been teaching for 18 years and spent 4 of those years as a reading specialist for students in grades K-5. I have experience providing intervention and enrichment for students in grades K-5. I spent most of my career between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and am licensed in PK-3. I also have a Masters degree in Foreign, Second, and Multilingual Language Education. I have been trained in Orton Gillingham and Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling. I love helping children learn and discover their potential! Being able to work one on one with a child allows me to customize instruction to meet their individual needs. Tutoring is a great way to further a child's progress in school.

During my 18 years as an educator, I have worked with struggling readers as a reading specialist for 4 years. I then transitioned to teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 1st grade. I have received extensive training in early literacy development and mathematics through my 18 years as a public school educator. I have effectively met the needs of each of my students regardless of where they are in their learning. I am able to provide intervention, enrichment, and practice with grade level standards.

I taught my 3rd grade students remotely during the pandemic and have a lot of experience with online learning and online platforms. I have also taught English online to students in other countries for 4 years.

As a public school teacher, I have a background check done each time I renew my license. I just completed my BCI/FBI background check in the summer of 2025.
