Hi! My name is Hannah, and I am a neuroscience graduate from The Ohio State University, where I graduated cum laude on the pre-med track. Throughout my academic journey, I discovered a strong passion for teaching and helping others understand challenging material.
During college, I experienced firsthand how difficult chemistry concepts can be. Through dedicated professors, effective study strategies, and extensive practice, I was able to overcome these challenges and begin recognizing patterns that made the material much more approachable. This experience shaped my approach to tutoring where I aim to help students break down complex topics into manageable steps, build confidence, and truly understand the “why” behind the material.
My teaching style is personalized to each student’s needs. I focus on simplifying concepts, guiding students through problem-solving, and reinforcing learning through practice problems. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them feel confident and capable in their abilities.
I have experience supporting peers by proofreading essays and assisting labmates with laboratory techniques such as buffer preparation and serial dilution calculations, where I guided them through setting up equations and avoiding common mistakes. Additionally, I have a year of teaching experience as a swim instructor and swim team coach, working with students ages 8–12. These roles taught me how to adapt to different learning styles, stay patient, and create a supportive learning environment which are skills I now apply in one-on-one tutoring.
I recently began formally tutoring chemistry and am currently working with a high school student. I am committed to helping each student succeed and am always open to incorporating resources or suggestions from students and parents.
I am readily available and pride myself on providing quick responses. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson. I look forward to helping you succeed!
