Dear Potential Students and Families,
Welcome! Over my 30-year career in education, I have watched capable students freeze when faced with an exam or application deadline. Today, I work at the specialized intersection of a licensed educator in Ohio (holding a 5-year professional certificate), a certified General Science (7–12) teacher, a school counselor, and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.). My personal approach is to dismantle the academic and test anxiety that blocks a student's potential, guiding them toward success with absolute calm, patience, and a clear, customized strategy.
Every virtual session I design is deeply rooted in cognitive science and empathy. Because of my specialist training, I don’t just treat the symptoms of poor grades; I diagnose the exact cognitive blocks or executive functioning gaps that cause a student to get stuck. I have extensive experience providing specialized support for neurodiverse learners, including students with ADHD, by teaching tailored focus-building and time-management techniques. I teach proven stress-reduction methods right alongside rigorous academic content, turning overwhelming obstacles into manageable milestones. Whether we are conquering secondary science, mastering digital literacy, or navigating college placement and financial aid, my students learn how to regulate their stress and regain motivation.
My instructional philosophy has been refined by a diverse history of classrooms. I have taught computer applications at the college level, ensuring I am completely fluent in modern digital spaces, and I spent eight years instructing non-traditional learners within a local prison system. This background has given me unmatched patience and an elite ability to connect with students from all walks of life, especially those who are discouraged. I look forward to helping your student develop the lifelong learning tools and self-advocacy they need to thrive.
Sincerely,
