Hello Everyone! I am a graduate teaching assistant at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, OH in the mathematics department. Previously, I have taught Calculus at a private school in Beachwood, OH, and worked as an undergraduate math tutor. I have several years of tutoring experience with high school and college students in topics from basic Algebra to Real Analysis. My favorite subject to work on with students is Linear Algebra, since it is a common language in many mathematical and engineering disciplines and is really interesting in it's own right. I utilize MATLAB/Octave and Python for computations where appropriate.

The structure of a tutoring session with me can be whatever you are most comfortable with. If we need to completely rediscover an idea, that's totally okay. If you just need some clarification and want to lead the session by asking questions, that's great. If you don't know what you don't know, we'll figure it out and go from there. It is YOUR session and you have the right to run it how you want.

A few side notes:

1. I have two types of cancellation fees. One is for cancelling a lesson within the 2 hour range. While this may impact my day it does not prevent me from being productive during that time so I will only charge $10.00 for this. The other is for a "no-call-no-show" which is a legitimate waste of my time and I will assess a charge for the entire planned lesson. I reserve the right to make exceptions to this in the event of emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances.

2. I will not assist in original research that is to be submitted for academic credit; e.g. Master's or Doctoral Theses.

3. I wholeheartedly believe in academic integrity and will in no way assist a student in cheating in a course.

Thorough knowledge of topics from high school or college level calculus (single and multivariable). I have tutored many students over several years and currently teach AP Calculus AB. I was a teaching assistant for Calc 2.
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

I am capable of instructing students in topics from a complete course in Linear Algebra including vector and matrix arithmetic, vector spaces and subspaces, projections, bases and change of basis, eigenvalues and eigenvectors (including applications like singular value decomposition/PCA and discrete dynamical systems), determinants, inner-product spaces, geometrical aspects of vector spaces, and numerical methods, with applications to differential equations, multivariable calculus, and basic machine learning tasks.

Principal Component Analysis (PCA)

David did a great job explaining the concepts, the math and the applications of principal component analysis (PCA). He was patient with my questions and detailed in his answers. I had a clear understanding of PCA after the lesson.

Incredible teacher!

I went through about 5 tutors and none have instructed better than David. He explained Calc 2 material clearly and concisely and knew what he was doing. This was great as we got through a lot of complex material at a quick rate (which was also cost effective)! Great guy.

Calculus II Tutor

David is great. He was able to work with my son on very short notice to get him ready for a Calculus II exam. He worked with us to find a schedule that would work for everyone, and my son feels that he is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and that he will be able to give him the help he needs to do well in this class this semester.

Thank you David for helping understand the core concepts behind multi-variate linear regression and logistic regression all in about an hour! Informative but easy to follow

Stats. Hypothesis .basic stats. Does go thru step by step by hand and also using t1-84 calculator. Also looking at examples as needed. Very helpful. Helps understanding stats easier. Great tutor
