Hello! My name is Sarah, and I am passionate about learning! I love to help students reach beyond basic understanding to grasp new concepts and understand the world around them. I have a Masters in English from the University of Rochester, along with a Masters in both Comparative Literature and Folkore from Indiana University. I have over ten years of tutoring along with seven years of teaching writing at the collegiate level. With me, students will not only grasp content but will learn more about themselves as individual learners and obtain studying techniques that will continue to work for them throughout the rest of their education.
I most commonly tutor high school English, U.S. History, and World History, though I also tutor college writing, human geography, social studies, and many similar subjects. Courses I have taught at Indiana University include college writing, Arthurian literature, pop culture, and lyric & popular song.
I can tutor students in basic reading comprehension skills, grammar, and writing in addition to higher-level close-reading skills. I know many tricks to gaining confidence in reading that I would love to share with students!
I am most available on Wednesdays and Fridays, and I have plenty of morning availability. Please reach out with scheduling questions, and I look forward to working with you!
