I hold a MA,Ed in reading education from Baldwin-Wallace College and a BA in studio art from Ursuline College. I have 6 years experience as a reading tutor. I will assess a students specific reading and educational needs and help him/her set and achieve goals. I have experience working with students K-12, and students with special needs. I have a BCI and FBI background check and will provide verification of this upon request.

I have a masters degree Ma Ed in reading with six years experience teaching students in grades K-6. I have worked with k-6 students in a variety of settings including, public and parochial schools, Summer reading camp, after school care, and one-on-one tutoring. In addition, I have worked with special needs students in all these settings, including individuals with ADHD, ED, ODD, and ESL students.

I hold an MAEd from Baldwin-Wallace College (Now Baldwin-Wallace University) in Reading Education. I have been tutoring struggling readers, especially younger students for three years. I have experience in reading, writing, spelling, and phonics. Most recently, I have helped a student improve from a D in reading to a C. She improved in writing from an F to a C. I have another student who improved in reading, writing, and spelling from all Ds to all Bs.

Great Teacher!

Mary Beth has been tutoring my daughter since the summer of 2012. The tutoring has paid off. My daughter is able to comprehend and read with little issue. Her reading grades have improved as well as other grades because she is able to read and comprehend directions. I am very happy with my daughter's progress and I owe a lot to the help of Mary Beth. We will continue to take advantage of Mary Beth's teaching ability!

Very patient tutor

Our daughter is having a bit of a hard time with reading, and then we found Mary Beth S., our daughter has seen her 3 times and just loves her. We find that she will answer a few more questions about the story and will even ask what do you think will happen. Mary Beth S. is very soft spoken and our daughter seems to really like that (unlike the teacher she has at school). Mary Beth S. really thinks that with this extra help, we will have our daughter right where she needs to be soon. And for that we would like to thank her. It is so nice to see her get ready to see Mary Beth S. she can't wait to see and read for her. A big Thank You Mary Beth S.
