With over 20 years of experience as a dedicated kindergarten teacher, I currently teach at the New Albany Early Learning Center in the New Albany-Plain Local School District. I earned my undergraduate degree from Ohio University and my Master’s degree in Reading Instruction from Otterbein University. I hold a current Ohio teaching license in Early Childhood Education and have deep knowledge of our district’s curriculum, Ohio’s kindergarten standards, and the foundations young learners need for long-term success. Working daily with 4- to 6-year-olds gives me unique insight into the skills required for a smooth transition to first grade.
I specialize in phonics and early literacy, number sense and early math, social-emotional development, and building school confidence through play-based, hands-on learning. Whether a child needs help with letter sounds, sight words, counting strategies, or simply gaining independence and excitement about school, I create personalized, gentle sessions that meet them exactly where they are. Lessons use games, stories, manipulatives, and movement while staying fully aligned with New Albany ELC and elementary expectations.
I offer in-person tutoring in the New Albany area only, scheduled after the regular school day. Families can expect a warm, patient, and encouraging environment where every child feels successful. Students often make rapid progress and develop a genuine love of learning as we celebrate small wins and build on their natural curiosity.
Parents appreciate my insider knowledge of NAPLS expectations, my advanced training in reading instruction, and my partnership with them to reinforce skills at home.
