At New Albany High School, I achieved a 4.360 GPA and many honors, including AP Scholar with Distinction, several scholarship awards, and other awards like the All-Ohio Outstanding Student Leader Award. I took 10 AP classes at NAHS, achieving 5s on all except one (I was not feeling well for AP Gov).
As for my standardized testing, I became a National Merit Finalist through my score on my PSAT, and took the SAT twice, getting a composite 1530 (800 math and 730 ELA) and a composite 1560 (790 math and 770 ELA) the second time for a superscore of 1570. I took the ACT only once, and got a composite score of 35 (36 science, 35 math, 33 reading, and 35 writing). Throughout these, I gained experience in both the paper and digital versions of standardized testing and experienced firsthand what testing feels like.
I have extensive previous tutoring and teaching experience in a multitude of subjects and styles. As the first son of immigrants, I have almost consistently helped my younger sibling through his academics, tutoring him one-on-one in every subject for more than a decade. I also help teach peers and friends, oftentimes under the mentorship of teachers and other educational staff, to provide support for students outside of the classroom. Through my high school's National Honor Society Chapter, I additionally volunteered to help tutor those in need.
I also believe that my well-roundedness outside of the classroom helps me tutor and teach. I am an Eagle Scout, varsity rower, varsity swimmer, band section leader, NHS member, and leader of five clubs at NAHS, helping me relate to and explain concepts to almost anyone!
My experience as a recent high school student has made me incredibly in tune with the average student, being familiar with the SAT, ACT, APs, and regular coursework, especially as a personal tutor or career planner!
