I am a Chinese tutor with a strong academic background in Chinese language and literature, holding a master’s degree from one of China’s top-ranked universities (Top 1). I have been teaching Chinese in the United States for over two years, primarily working with elementary school students.
My teaching philosophy centers on one core belief: interest is always the first and most important driving force in language learning. Rather than focusing only on memorization, I help students build genuine curiosity, confidence, and long-term learning habits. When students enjoy learning, progress becomes natural and sustainable.
In my classes, I emphasize authentic sentence-based output, helping students learn how to express complete and natural ideas in real-life Chinese, not just isolated words. Lessons are carefully designed around practical life scenarios, such as daily routines, school life, family, and social interactions, so students can immediately apply what they learn.
Chinese culture is seamlessly integrated into every lesson. Through language learning, students are also introduced to Chinese traditions, customs, and cultural values in an age-appropriate and engaging way. As a result, my classroom becomes more than a language class—it becomes a cultural journey that broadens students’ perspectives and deepens their understanding of the world.
My classes are interactive, encouraging, and structured to create a positive learning cycle where students feel motivated, supported, and proud of their progress. I strive to create a warm environment where students are not afraid to speak, make mistakes, and grow.
I truly believe that when children develop an interest in Chinese early on, they gain not only language skills but also confidence, cross-cultural awareness, and a lifelong appreciation for learning.
