Hello! My name is Amir and I am a junior at the University of Chicago studying Mathematics and Physics. I previously attended Case Western Reserve University for one year, studying physics, before transferring to my current university. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor's degree in physics and math, and I intend to pursue a PhD in either physics or astrophysics after graduation. I graduated from William Mason High School in 2023.
I have been involved in numerous tutoring and teaching roles since 2020 with extensive experience in tutoring online. From 2020-2022, I taught virtual STEM classes through ScioVirtual to groups of middle school and high school students on Astronomy and Oceanography. This involved developing lesson plans, creating lesson materials, and making homework problems/review games to keep classes engaging. From 2020-2023, I also led the Astronomy event for my high school's Science Olympiad team, which involved introducing freshmen to the event with in-person meetings and practices. Finally, I have been privately tutoring students online since 2023 in subjects including physics, astronomy, and mathematics.
My qualifications include: 5 years of tutoring experience, 36 ACT score, 4.0 unweighted HS GPA, former National Astronomy Champion (Science Olympiad), 5 on AP Calculus BC, Physics C: Mechanics, and Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, Top 50 Nationally in the United States Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad in 2021 and 2022
