Youngstown State (Criminal Justice)
Grand Canyon Universtiy (Master's)
I taught undergraduates for three years in the field of Criminal Justice. This included several different classes such as Forensics, Policing, Juvenile Justice, Criminal Courts, Criminal Investigations, Victimology and many more.
It was very challenging as students bring different personalities to the classroom setting. I have always prided myself on being fair yet firm. I do not hand out grades and push students give their very best. There is a definite sense of achievement that can be found in earning a grade that one simply knew was present, but was not sure how to achieve it. Hard work that results in a great grade is one of the best feelings ever.
I was a police officer for over twenty years and bring real life experience to the table. Having investigated all the crimes one would typically associate with police work means I can talk about these topics with authority. I am still going to school myself and am working on another graduate degree. This one in Terrorism and Counter Terrorism.
I have been married for 25 years, have a couple kids and four grandchildren. Family is important as is a support system. I would not have achieved the level of scholastic success I have without the support of family. This means students need their instructors to be their support and educator. I have 22 years on the job as a police officer. I have 2 undergraduate degrees in Criminal Justice, a graduate degree in Criminal Justice and am currently working on a graduate degree in Terrorism.
