I have over 20 years experience (since high school!) teaching and tutoring in many different capacities, including everything from developing several courses from scratch at the university level at a well-known large research university in Ohio to not-for-profit tutoring in disadvantaged communities.

My specialties are upper-level mathematics, science and engineering, and I have taught many students how to write as well. My biggest successes are in improving high school students' SAT-Math, ACT-Math and ACT-Science scores and improving performance on upper level math and science courses such as Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, AP Physics, Circuits (Electricity and Magnetism), and Mechanics. I'm not much of a chemist or biologist but can recommend colleagues for this if needed. I have written extensively and improved GRE-Writing scores dramatically, typically for clients seeking help in math or science but needing some work on writing as well.

My approach is unique, informed by best practices and years of trial and error, and designed to maximize performance on test day. I do not give answers. I teach thinking, strategy, and problem solving. My process is largely Socratic- asking probing questions to make students think for themselves and be able to solve problems without my help- on test day and beyond. Motivated students love me,

I find online instruction works the best for today's learners, and I employ several technological tools such as a virtual blackboard for maximizing the efficacy of my online instruction.
