I have over 5 years of experience in teaching college writing, as well as tutoring and reading instruction. I have taught students of all ages, and am currently a PhD candidate in the field of Rhetoric and Composition. I am well versed and experienced in both APA, MLA, and Chicago formatting (for both student and professional writing), and specialize in responding thoroughly and efficiently to student writing. My passion is to help students develop as writers by helping them gain confidence in their own abilities and skills, as well as how to tackle the most complex writing assignments. Working with students to improve their critical reading and writing skills is my life's work and passion.

My experience teaching and tutoring in College Writing means that I have taught students from all disciplines and of all ages. I am skilled in APA, MLA, and Chicago, as well as developing thesis statements, invention strategies, research skills, integrating sources into writing, as well as developing effective revising and proof reading skills. I also pride myself on my ability to help students overcome writer's block by working from the students own needs, not only those of the assignment. I also have experience as a reading teacher and have experience helping students with time management skills and critical reading and engagement.
