Hello, I am Sayeed. I have recently graduated from Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio, with a PhD in Molecular Biology and Genetics. Apart from my research work during my PhD, I have been a teaching assistant in the biology department for more than five years. I have taught Introductory Biology, Microbiology to freshmen, and advanced genetics to senior undergraduate students in a classroom setting.
Since I have in-depth expertise in molecular biology, I am passionate about teaching key genetic and molecular biology concepts to senior high school students and undergraduate students. When I teach, I go extra length to ensure that the students get the key concepts. In that regard, I rely more on whiteboards than on PowerPoint presentations. For instance, when I am teaching DNA replication, I believe the more effective method is to draw and explain DNA structures on a whiteboard and explain each step individually. I see that many university instructors rely more on power points and, in the end, students become overwhelmed and remain confused.
Whenever I am teaching, I make sure I work hard to prepare materials that will be easy for you to understand, and you will get more returns for your investment. Given that I have a PhD in this area, I will use my practical laboratory experience to explain the key concepts. Trust me; you will have fun learning biology with me, and I will make you fall in love with biology.
