Hello! My name is Allison. I am a young scientist with a particular interest in the heart. I recently completed by PhD, which focused on the molecular mechanisms of cardiac regeneration after heart attack. I also hold an MS in Entrepreneurial Biotechnology from Case Western Reserve University and a BS in Biology from Duquesne University (Summa cum laude). I have had the opportunity to work in the biotech space as well, which has taught me the "business side" of science.

During my master's program, I served as a teaching assistant in an introductory biology class in a classroom setting. As such, my main experience tutor is at the collegiate level. I also have experience coding for bioinformatics analysis of big 'omics' data. As such, I have a deep understanding of genetics and next generation sequencing. I really enjoy using my expertise to explain complex science so that it can be understood by a broad audience.
My teaching style would be tailored to each students need, but I myself am a very visual learner and like to draw things out. Some subjects, like anatomy, will require more memorization, while subjects such as genetics may require mathematics to estimate population flux. I have experience study (and teaching) both and look forward to working with you!
