Hello, I'm Karli! I have a Bachelor's of Science in Speech Pathology. Shortly after graduating from college in 2011, I started tutoring. Eventually, I left tutoring to pursue other opportunities, then returned to it in 2018! I have been an ESL teacher ever since then. It brings me great satisfaction to see my students' improved confidence in speaking English. I am patient, calm, and a good listener. I have taught beginner to advanced students from all over the world, and I also have experience teaching children, teens and adults. I can easily alter my tutoring approach if necessary to best fit my student's needs, including simplifying or making the material a bit more challenging. Teaching to the student's level is one of the best ways to ensure the student's success, in my experience. I also enjoy giving students advice, and guiding them on ways they can use English more effectively.
I have taught elementary school students for a national tutoring company. During this time, I tutored in-person groups of 4-6 students, focusing primarily on their reading skills. I provided hands on assistance when needed, though also encouraged my students to work better independently. Besides in-person tutoring I have taught ESL with two online learning companies, teaching both solo and small group sessions. I have taught a host of different aspects pertaining to English language learning, including but not limited to: conversational English practice, grammar skills, reading skills, pronunciation accuracy, and vocabulary.
I go the extra mile for my students, and will do all that I can to help them achieve. I am also open to suggestions, and happily welcome any questions students have. I am readily available and respond quickly to messages. I look forward to hearing from you!
