Bio

I love math. I love teaching it. I find it intrinsically satisfying to see the light come on in a student's eyes.

My first math lesson that I taught was when I was 5. My neighbor, still in diapers, kept skipping 4 when counting from 1 to 10. I worked with him until he could get all 10 numbers in a row, and match them up with his fingers.

My students drastically improve under my tutelage, generally seeing a two grade level improvement (F to C, C to A, for example), and all of them get...

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I've taught formal high school classes in Algebra I as well as successfully tutored numerous students struggling with specific concepts. You won't find better.
Calculus,

Calculus

I majored in math in college, graduating with an A average. I took MV Calc in high school and can do surface integrals, and teach them.

Discrete Math,

Discrete Math

I have a B.S. in pure mathematics from Indiana University with a GPA of 3.6/4.0. Discrete math, Finite Math, Linear Algebra and Logic are all early-level courses in this track, I feel confident I can help anyone with whatever problems they might have with these subjects.
Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

During my B.S. in pure mathematics from Indiana University with a GPA of 3.6/4.0. I took a series of two courses called Linear Algebra and Linear Transformations. LT was just LA with more theory and more depth. LT was moving towards a graduate dimension theory course.
Logic,

Logic

I have a B.S. in pure mathematics from Indiana University with a GPA of 3.6/4.0. One class that I took was P105: Logic and Reasoning. It's a Philosophy class, instead of a math class, but there you go. It's a class in college-level formal logic. I got an A.

Unbelievably brilliant

K.J.P tutored me with an impossible logics class. His knowledge surpassed the instructors and his commitment to my success was incredible. If you are reading this review, stop looking because K.J.P. is exactly the person you are looking for. He is an amazing tutor and an even better person. FYI, went from struggling in the class to an "A" !!!!

Very helpful and knowledgeable

K.J. showed me a different way to do my Algebra I homework problems and I tried it and it works every time. He is very knowledgeable and his help makes me feel much more confident about understanding and getting good grades this year in Algebra I.

Excellent

K.J. did a fantastic job helping acquaint me with regression analysis basics. We used live data and he was able to jump right in with very little lead-in time. I'd recommend and use him again.

Made AP Stats test review easy to understand

K.J. helped me study for an AP Stats test and made it easy to understand. He's very funny and made sure I knew the material. He also helped out with a last minute request to tutor.

Best Tutor On Wyzant

Very smart and explains everything so that even someone who is not as smart can understand. Very grateful for Wyzant and Mr. K.J. He takes the time to explain all of the work and helps you understand the questions.

Precise, patient and efficient.

K.J. is truly an amazing tutor. He's able to break things down for my graduate statistics course in a manner that I can easily understand and he is also extremely patient. If there's something I'm not getting, he provides alternate ways for it to click for me which is really great!

Answered reasoning questions over 10 other qualified math tutors wouldn't even try

I'm not joking when I say that KJ was the only tutor, throughout both venues Tutors.com and Wyzant, who was able to completely solve these messy analytical problems to the end. I give props to those others who actually tried, because I am, once again, NOT JOKING when I say that I brought my graduate level simulation problem sets to 18-20 different math tutors and most wouldn't even bother attempting them, and this guy finally worked through the entire solution. KJ is an extremely patient tutor who enjoys the puzzle solving process and I strongly recommend him!

Very knowledgeable

Booked for an hour only, but he let it run over to finish my worksheet. It went very well and he thoroughly explained everything. Would def recommend. 10/10
