Bio

I love math. I love teaching it. I find it intrinsically satisfying to see the light come on in a student's eyes.

My first math lesson that I taught was when I was 5. My neighbor, still in diapers, kept skipping 4 when counting from 1 to 10. I worked with him until he could get all 10 numbers in a row, and match them up with his fingers.

My students drastically improve under my tutelage, generally seeing a two grade level improvement (F to C, C to A, for example), and all of them get...

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I've taught formal high school classes in Algebra I as well as successfully tutored numerous students struggling with specific concepts. You won't find better.
Calculus,

Calculus

I majored in math in college, graduating with an A average. I took MV Calc in high school and can do surface integrals, and teach them.

Discrete Math,

Discrete Math

I have a B.S. in pure mathematics from Indiana University with a GPA of 3.6/4.0. Discrete math, Finite Math, Linear Algebra and Logic are all early-level courses in this track, I feel confident I can help anyone with whatever problems they might have with these subjects.
Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

During my B.S. in pure mathematics from Indiana University with a GPA of 3.6/4.0. I took a series of two courses called Linear Algebra and Linear Transformations. LT was just LA with more theory and more depth. LT was moving towards a graduate dimension theory course.
Logic,

Logic

I have a B.S. in pure mathematics from Indiana University with a GPA of 3.6/4.0. One class that I took was P105: Logic and Reasoning. It's a Philosophy class, instead of a math class, but there you go. It's a class in college-level formal logic. I got an A.

Great stats tutor!

Highly recommend KJ! He’s professional, concise, and friendly. I’m glad to have found him and will certainly seek him out again when I need help! Don’t hesitate to book a stats lesson with KJ!

Best tutor ever!!

I needed help to get through the end of my stats class, and he taught me how to use my calculator properly, as well as statcrunch. He was patient, and he was able to fit me in on short notice! I absolutely recommend!

Knowledgeable and patient!

My daughters are both teenagers and they absolutely love the way he teaches. Not only do they understand better but I often hear them laughing and enjoying the session. Would highly recommend him.

so great

Apart from teaching you how to do the problems he makes sure you understand. He knows all the material really well and will teach you easier and faster methods to solve problems that were once complicated

Really helpful tutor for my Precalc practice work

K.J. was a very knowledgeable tutor and was able to explain the subject (logs and exponential functions) really well. Very helpful with short notice. Slowed down when needed and we will call on him again for instruction.

Helpful in the clutch. Patient and knowledgeable

KJ was most helpful in a stressful situation to my panicked college student. At the last minute he helped him understand topics he was lost on. Highly recommend and will use again.

Knowledgeable and Patient Tutor

K.J. was a huge help to my son today with his Calculus lesson that involved derivatives. My son has high functioning autism, so it is very difficult for him to "warm up" to someone new, and he really took to K.J. My son is already looking forward to another tutoring session soon! Thank you very much!!

Statistics: Probability and Byes Theorem

KJ helped me prepare for an interview by reviewing one known question and other possible questions that may arise for a statistical position. He explained each question from multiple perspectives which helped cement my understanding.
