Greetings! My name is Chris, and I teach 6th grade math in a top-rated school district. For nearly 20 years, I've enjoyed helping students build confidence, strengthen their math skills, and experience success in the classroom. With more than 915 hours of online tutoring and 567+ five-star reviews, I've had the opportunity to work with students from across the country, each with different strengths, challenges, and learning goals. As a father of five, I know every child is different. Some students need extra encouragement, some need concepts explained in a different way, and others simply need someone who believes in them. I enjoy working with students of all ability levels, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, ADHD, and other unique learning needs. As a former military chaplain, I value patience, compassion, and building strong relationships with both students and parents.

In addition to teaching in the classroom, I've spent the past several years helping students online through personalized math intervention and tutoring while building my own tutoring practice. My approach goes beyond simply helping with tonight's homework. I work to identify the skills a student is missing, build a plan that meets them where they are, and help them develop the confidence and understanding they need to become independent learners. Every student is different, so every tutoring plan is personalized to fit their goals.

I also believe communication with families is an important part of the tutoring process. After each lesson, I'll send a brief recap of what we worked on, your child's progress, and what we'll focus on next.

I am a Math Teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. I currently teach 5th and 6th grade math, while I have spent many years tutoring a variety of grades and subjects. These experiences have allowed me to adapt my teaching style based on the goals and needs of each parent and student. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education before going on to earn my Masters degree. Most recently, I completed an additional 10 graduate courses this summer from Adams State University to enhance my ability for online teaching and distance learning.

I am the proud father to five children and we have homeschooled our children at various points through their educational journey. I have been fortunate enough to serve in full-time teaching as well as full-time ministry. This has allowed me to work with numerous homeschool families as well as learn various approaches to best serve each student. Great math tutor for my 6th grader

My son has been working with Chris for several weeks on 6th grade math and has had an excellent experience! Chris is very patient and thorough in his instruction and recaps the lesson at the end to really help it stick. He’s also very personable and respectful with my son, which makes my son look forward to their sessions. As a parent, I appreciate the recaps that Chris sends me after each lesson. Highly recommend!
