Greetings! My name is Chris and I currently teach 5th and 6th grade math. While I have found this to be my 'sweet spot' in the classroom, I have truly enjoyed my experiences tutoring Grades K-8 in a variety of subjects. Greetings! My name is Chris and I currently teach 5th and 6th grade math. While I have found this to be my 'sweet spot' in the classroom, I have truly enjoyed my experiences tutoring Grades K-8 in a variety of subjects. For students who are behind grade level, this often involves a plan of closing their learning gap by adjusting my teaching style to start with your child's current ability and working towards their grade level. We will also review their current school work to make sure they are learning at a level comparable to their peers to experience success in their current learning environment. When a child is able to experience success individually, gain confidence in themselves and their abilities, this helps them discover a new love for learning and confidence in the classroom. This is one of the most rewarding parts of being a tutor!

I have been teaching in the classroom for over 10 years and love working with my students. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University before going on to earn my Masters degree. Most recently, I completed an additional 10 graduate courses this summer from Adams State University to enhance my ability for online teaching and distance learning. As a proud father of five children, I am confident that you will see I am used to working with many different ages, personalities, and learning styles - including students who have an IEP, 504 plan, and special needs. As a former military chaplain, I will be both well prepared and compassionate while working with your child and following up with you afterwards. I love working with students in ways that support their learning styles, build their confidence, and put them on a path towards current and future success.
