Common Core

I design and implement standards-aligned curriculum and lesson plans that directly support Common Core expectations in reading, writing, and language development, while using data-driven assessment and progress monitoring to ensure all students meet grade-level benchmarks. My expertise in language acquisition and academic vocabulary development enables students to access complex texts and tasks required by the Common Core. I have a master's degree in TESOL from Ohio Dominican University. I have taught ESL for one year at my public school.

Essay Writing

I am an experienced educator with over 20 years of teaching English as a Second Language and German across K–12 settings, complemented by four years as an adjunct instructor in English grammar and composition at the collegiate level. I have a strong track record of developing students’ writing skills, helping them produce clear, effective, and compelling essays. My teaching emphasizes language mastery, critical thinking, and academic success. Many of my students have gone on to excel in higher education with strong writing abilities.

GED

I have instructed K - 12 education for 21 years and I have demonstrated a mastery of all subject materials. I teach English learning and my job is to help students who are learning English to succeed in all subject areas. This requires me to exhibit a high level of expertise in all subject areas to help English learners. As a result of my training, I am capable of helping anyone pursue his or her GED.

German

I have been teaching high school German for the past 10 years.

Writing

I design and implement writing instruction that develops students’ skills in grammar, organization, and clear expression, drawing on my expertise in advanced grammar and writing. I create engaging, standards-aligned lessons that support diverse learners, including English Language Learners, in building strong written communication skills. Through data-driven assessment and individualized feedback, I help students refine their writing and improve over time. I incorporate academic vocabulary and language development strategies to strengthen students’ ability to express complex ideas in writing. Additionally, I foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to take risks, develop their voice, and grow as confident writers.
