Hi! I am Katie, a very experienced tutor in math and science, all levels. I received my BS in mechanical engineering, graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University in Athens, OH. I worked in the engineering field, while also completing all of my coursework and clinical s to receive my Master of Arts in Teaching (math, science k-12) from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. The only thing I didn’t complete was my last student teaching experience, which is ironic, since I’ve been teaching ever since. I taught College Algebra two years at Marshall University and served as a math tutor there for several years.
I left the workforce to raise and homeschool our eight children, the first two of which have gone on to receive full rides at the Ohio State University. I am, to my core, a teacher. I have tutored many, many students through the years, and have a passion for teaching individuals - understanding their thinking and helping them grasp concepts and methods so that they can succeed at the task at hand, and continue to build confidently.
I can tutor all levels of math, elementary through calculus. I also love teaching science, especially physical science and physics. My husband is a pastor, I’m a mom, and I would love to be a friendly face, an encouragement and a blessing to your student.
