Bio

I have tutored all high school level math and physics including AP courses as well many college math, physics, computer science, and electrical engineering courses. I also worked as an afterschool group-tutor for a middle school where I would teach and tutor students in algebra while fostering their curiosity for higher-level math. I have asked many questions in my classes and enjoy sharing what I learned. I find it meaningful to share fundamental truths of problem-solving and analysis with others. I enjoy empowering others by showing them what they can do and how it relates to their interest and take pride in seeing them be successful. . Sometimes I teach a modern/visual approach to a problem; sometimes traditional rigor is more appropriate but intuition is always key. My job is to make you feel as if you already knew math like it is so ingrained in nature, it is something you could never forget. I also received a maximum score on AP Calculus BC and the SAT Math 2 subject test.Physics is the closest thing we have to predicting the future. A typical physics question is in the form: given this information, what will happen? When confused we will start with fundamental concepts and the type of final answer you are looking for, then work backwards using physics relations until you get the information you are given. I am patient and constantly check to make sure the student understands the topic. I also received a maximum score on the AP Physics C Mechanics and E/M exam. I graduated Summa cum laude with highest honors in both majors.
My job is not to tell you simple facts but to show you the power you have. I am here to motivate you and help you achieve what you want to achieve, take pride in your work, work smart, work hard, and never leave any questions behind so that you too, may have a solid understanding.

Note: I do not provide students with ACT practice questions. I can, however, go over any questions they have from provided material or give lessons on general concepts in Algebra 1&2, Geometry, Trigonometry, or mathematical reasoning.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I taught and tutored a group of middle schoolers in Algebra 1 twice a week for two hours after school. I helped motivate the students and gain the interest of some students in higher-level math and physics. I have also contemplated much about the subject when I was a student. I know fully understand all operations and methods in the course and if the student is interested can walk them through a simple proof of the quadratic formula so they understand how it works.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have studied Alebgra much on my own in addition to doing so in school. I have proved and fully understand the rationale root theorem, the quadratic formula, and the cubic formula. I can also give and show many examples of how to apply Alebra to a variety of uses depending on the students' interests.
Calculus

Calculus

In high school, I ran a discord sever where I would often help other single variable calculus students in the class. I received a maximum score on the AP Calculus BC exam. In college, I would help or tutor other students with multivariable/vector calculus or Calculus 3.
Discrete Math

Discrete Math

I have used discrete math for a variety of things. This includes the pure math section and applications to computer science such as using computers to solve discrete math problems. I also completed a college class on the subject with an A. I frequently use and apply the logic that I learned in discrete math to other math problems such as those in physics and computer science, and in real life.
Geometry

I received an A+ in my Honors Geometry course in High school. I have also tutored the subject and helped a group of geometry students at lunch when I was a senior in high school.
Logic

Logic

I have studied Logic individually and thought about how to approach many real-world problems with a variety of logical processes. I also carefully consider how to explain those thought processes. I have used logic in an advanced Python course for solving problems such as Sudoku with the SAT package and in a discrete math course.
MATLAB

MATLAB

I use Matlab on a regular basis as an applied math major. I mostly use it to approximate solutions to various differential equations such as the Schrodinger equation in quantum physics, Lagrange's equation in classical mechanics, and those modeling the spread of a virus. I have used it for projects such as optimizing the position of a cell tower or multivariable optimization of the most accurate sensitivity conservation between games. For general computational programs, I have made a system of linear equations solvers, nonlinear equation solvers, and finding PageRank vectors for the Google Matrix.
Physics

Physics

I ran a discord sever with about 20 students from AP Physics C Mechanics and AP Physics C Electromagnetics class. I helped students with questions multiple times a day and often tutored students in the class. Most students seemed to feel more comfortable with the material after our discussions. In addition, I received a maximum score on both the AP Physics C Mechanics and AP Physics C Electromagnetics exams. I have also studied Physics much on my own. I derived various physics equations in different ways such as finding the inertia of various objects through integration.
Prealgebra

I taught and tutored a group of middle schoolers in Prealgebra and Algebra 1 twice a week for two hours after school. I helped motivate the students and gain the interest of some students in higher-level math and physics.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I have studied Precalculus both in and outside of school. I have proved most Precalculus equations, theorems, and methods myself such as Euler's identity and function derivatives from the formal definition. In addition, I helped a college student who was previously struggling with sub-passing grades pass his class.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I received a maximum score (800) on the SAT Math 2 subject test. I have also tutored multiple students in preparation for the SAT math section and the SAT math subject test. Note: I do not provide students with SAT practice questions. WOW

I haven’t taken a math class in 10 years. The last one I took was algebra I. With Joseph’s help, I aced my accelerated summer term precalculus exam, after just two days worth of sessions… He has an intuitive understanding of how people learn, he lets me struggle where I need to, and come in and explain things when I don’t. He’s on top of it, catching my careless mistakes so we don’t waste time back tracking, instead, practicing implementing the concepts, which is how you learn math. He also gave me some great ideas on how to study most effectively. Don’t hesitate, get in while his rates are still low, they’re bound to go up when more people see what he has to offer!

Extremely helpful and easy to understand’

Joseph was able to help be understand how to help me with right triangles 45, 45, 90 and 60, 30. He also gave me a really helpful tool to use when prepping for the SAT. I will definitely work with again when I get confused on my math homework.
