Hi I'm Khunsa! I'm a science major at OSU. I have completed advanced coursework in anatomy and physiology. I performed especially well in anatomy and physiology at the undergraduate level, and that course in particular strengthened my ability to understand and explain complex body systems in a clear, organized way. Because of this background, I feel especially confident tutoring students in anatomy and physiology at the high school through early college level. My academic training emphasizes both content mastery and the ability to break information down into logical, manageable steps, which is the same approach I use when working with students.I love to teach what I have learned and help others apply their knowledge and make thoughtful connections that will help them succeed in the long run! I have detailed notes.
I have previous experience tutoring through volunteer work at my local library and community organizations, where I helped elementary and middle school students with reading comprehension and general academic support. These experiences taught me how to adjust my explanations depending on how each student learns, whether they need more structure, visual examples, repetition, or discussion-based learning. I use a student-centered approach where I first assess what the student already understands, identify gaps, and then guide them through the material step-by-step while encouraging questions and active participation.
Most of my tutoring experience has been one-on-one or in small group settings, which allows me to focus on each student’s individual needs, pace, and confidence level. I have been involved in tutoring and academic support for several years through volunteer and peer-based roles, and I genuinely enjoy helping students feel more capable and less intimidated by challenging subjects. My goal as a tutor is not just to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand the process so they become more independent and confident learners over time.
