Bio

I am a certified and experienced science teacher. I earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in geology from the Ohio State University, and worked in science research for many years. I also completed a Master of Arts in Teaching through the American Museum of Natural History - I'm certified to teach General Science and Earth Science in New York State and Ohio. I am a certified and experienced science teacher. I earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in geology from the Ohio State University, and worked in science research for many years. I also completed a Master of Arts in Teaching through the American Museum of Natural History - I'm certified to teach General Science and Earth Science in New York State and Ohio. I have three years of full-time classroom teaching experience. In my career, I've taught in middle school, high school, AP, and college classrooms; I also have extensive experience preparing students for New York Regents Testing (Regents Earth Science, Living Environment, and Physics) and college geology and oceanography courses. In all of these settings, I've provided one-one-one tutoring sessions with students who need extra help, especially in science and math. I provide assessments and feedback so learners can focus on areas of improvement and celebrate progress.

As a science teacher, I've seen how different students struggle with math and science concepts, and I've developed strategies to fit with students' different learning styles and abilities. I firmly believe that everyone has the potential to grow and improve. Math and science have never been "easy" for me, but I've been able to succeed through hard work and lots of practice. Throughout my educational journey, I've found lots of learning methods that have worked for different kinds of learners. I'll work with you to find a way of learning that fits what you need!

Amazing!

I came to Rachael as my 8th grader who is taking the regents for Earth Science needed help with several topics. Rachael was efficient and covered a lot of ground. She explained everything thoroughly. At the end of the one hour session, my daughter not only felt more confident, she said she wished Rachael was her ES teacher in school. I have referred her to a colleague- she and her daughter are delighted and impressed as well. Rachael is a true gem, and we feel very blessed to have her for a tutor.

Thank you Rachael. C she is so happy after each lesson. She is understanding the reference sheet and is able to apply it to the questions. She is more confident and less stressed about the regents. We went over piecewise Graphs interval notation and set theory. Also transformations . I very much like my session with Rachel. I will be contacting her for future sessions . Good tutor her ability to analyze and make correct and logical decisions in math is very good . thank you Rachel.
