Pre-K-3 Grad with 12 years of Special Education knowledge

I am a graduate of The Ohio State University. My major was Human Development and Family Science - Pre-K-3 Education specialization. While studying for my undergraduate degree I had to take a student teaching course and I had to have several clinic hours. One of the opportunities was being a tutor for two different students and completing running records. I was a Day Care teacher for 3 years for kids 18 months to school age. In my classroom, I cared for and taught pre-schoolers (3-4 year olds) specifically. In 2013, I became a substitute teacher for the Educational service center of central Ohio and from 2014-2025, I was a teacher's aide. For 6 years, I assisted in K-2 cross-cat. From 2020-2026, I assisted in a Strive environment. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I enjoy helping students. It's fun and rewarding when they have that "aha" moment of understanding. It's a great feeling for them and myself. I now teach Kindergarten in the Catholic school system.

I was a foreign exchange student in Brazil from 2003-2004. I love languages and am self taught beyond my Rotary International experience.

I love to read. Reading opens your mind to knew vocabulary, ways of writing and content just to name a few things. Reading is not easy and should be done with expression and attention to detail. I am a very decent speller as I've read a lot over the years. I would always study my words and try to ace my spelling tests when I was in school.
While I do not prefer it, I am able to teach common core math.
