I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and have spent more than 12 years as a registered nurse specializing in outpatient oncology infusion. I am chemotherapy and biotherapy certified and have extensive experience caring for patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and other complex infusion therapies. I also have extensive experience with vascular access, including ultrasound-guided peripheral IV placement and the management of central venous access devices. In addition to my clinical experience, I have served as a charge nurse and spent the past eight years precepting new graduate nurses, mentoring nurses transitioning into oncology, and providing one-on-one education. Teaching has always been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
Every student learns differently, so I tailor each session to fit your learning style. We'll identify your strengths, focus on the concepts that need the most work, and build confidence through understanding rather than memorization. Questions are always encouraged. One of the principles that has guided me throughout my nursing career is that there is no such thing as a bad question in nursing—only the one that doesn't get asked.
