I am a Ph.D. chemistry student with a strong academic and teaching background that includes a master’s degree in chemistry, as well as formal training at the undergraduate and doctoral levels. I completed my bachelor’s degree in chemistry, followed by post-baccalaureate and master’s-level coursework, and I am currently pursuing my doctorate at The Ohio State University. My academic training and research focus on physical, inorganic, and computational chemistry, where I regularly apply concepts such as quantum chemistry, spectroscopy, thermodynamics, and density functional theory. This background allows me to tutor chemistry at multiple levels, from introductory courses to advanced undergraduate and graduate topics.
I also have direct classroom teaching experience as a high school chemistry teacher at KIPP Columbus, where I taught chemistry and other science subjects in a structured classroom environment. In this role, I worked with secondary-level students of varying academic backgrounds, delivered lessons aligned with curriculum standards, assessed student progress, and provided individualized academic support. Teaching at the high school level helped me develop clear, accessible explanations of complex concepts and adapt my teaching approach to meet the needs of different learners.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have extensive experience tutoring and mentoring students in one-on-one settings at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I regularly assist students with physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and computational chemistry, including problem-solving strategies, exam preparation, and research-related challenges such as setting up and interpreting computational calculations. My tutoring approach emphasizes conceptual understanding, patience, and confidence-building, helping students develop the skills needed to approach new chemistry problems independently.
