Hello! Since 2023, I have been a professor of mathematics at the Ohio State University (OSU). I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Georgia (UGA). In the last 5 years, I have been the instructor for at least a dozen college-level math classes, teaching over several hundred students. Hello! Since 2023, I have been a professor of mathematics at the Ohio State University (OSU). I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Georgia (UGA). In the last 5 years, I have been the instructor for at least a dozen college-level math classes, teaching over several hundred students. I have taught college-level Calculus and Precalculus many times, with class sizes ranging from 10 students to over 180, and have held several hundred office hours, which was like one-on-one tutoring for the smaller classes. I have also done over 100 hours of one-on-one drop-in tutoring for the math department at UGA, tutoring students in classes from College Algebra to Calculus. Finally, I have almost 6 years of experience in voluntarily coordinating reading and research projects for math undergraduates, which has led to several journal publications. Working with students is truly a passion of mine, and is why I love my job!
Since I have a Ph.D., I am certified to both teach classes and work on math research. Before receiving my Ph.D., I received an Associates of Arts degree while in high school via a dual-enrollment program at Broward College. Then, I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with honors from Florida Atlantic University (FAU), graduating Magna Cum Laude with a GPA of ~3.8. At FAU, I almost exclusively took mathematics classes, most of which were at the graduate level.
My approach to tutoring has often been to "work backwards" when a student is stuck on a problem, to identify the exact source of their confusion; I am always more interested in helping them understand the material, not just the calculations. Having worked with so many students, I can say with confidence that with the right guidance and compassion, every student can succeed in whatever they put their mind to, if they desire.
If you would like to get a sample of my teaching quality, you can read through my course evaluations, which are publicly available online; they are also available upon request.
