Hello! My name is Rachael, and I’m excited to support students in their academic journey. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, where I graduated summa cum laude. During my time there, I served as a group mentor to about 15 undergraduate biology majors, an experience that taught me the value of patience, clarity, and making learning relatable. I believe that effective tutoring goes beyond simply explaining material but rather a focus on making connections between concepts and showing how they apply in the real world. I strive to make sessions engaging, interactive, and even fun by linking ideas across courses and breaking down complex topics into understandable parts.
After undergrad, I completed a two-year research internship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where I studied Alzheimer’s disease. This experience strengthened my background in the sciences and deepened my passion for understanding the brain and behavior.
Currently, I’m a graduate student in the Neuroscience program at The Ohio State University. I offer one-on-one tutoring tailored to each student's unique needs, with a focus on science and math courses. I bring a positive attitude, strong academic foundation, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed. I ask that students come prepared and ready to engage. To ensure we’re a good fit, I offer a free initial consultation. I look forward to working together!
