I'm Bryan! I graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science, with minors in Physics, Computer Science, and Engineering Management. My role models growing up were always those special science and math teachers that really made the coursework interesting and engaging, and I strive for the same impact on my students. I'm Bryan! I graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science, with minors in Physics, Computer Science, and Engineering Management. My role models growing up were always those special science and math teachers that really made the coursework interesting and engaging, and I strive for the same impact on my students. While math and science were always my strong suits growing up, I wasn't always so lucky in reading and writing. I started with a sub-700 score in SAT Reading and Writing, but after weeks of dedicated self-study, I was able to achieve perfect 800s in both (this was back when SATs were out of 2400), so I know what it's like to learn subjects I'm not comfortable with.

If there's one thing I hate, it's busywork! When I assign coursework, you can be assured there's always a valuable lesson to be gained. I will never give students work to do that isn't productive, and most times I will try to leave time at the end of the session to work through problems together so that students don't have to do too much outside of our sessions. I know normal schoolwork is already time-consuming on its own, so I don't want to add to that!

I'm very open to feedback and criticism. Students (and their parents) know themselves better than I do, so if there's something I can do better on, please let me know and I'll make the adjustments immediately. I'm excited to start working toward your academic goals together!

LSAT

LSAT

I self-studied on the new LSAT format and was able to score a 179/180, but not without difficulties. I've turned my own difficulties overcoming plateaus at key milestones into a framework that anyone can adopt to analyze their own weaknesses and transforming that into results on test day. My approach includes thorough blind review to identify patterns in my weak spots, categorizing repeat errors to pinpoint specific weaknesses, and targeted drilling of those specific question types after studying how others approach those questions. This might sound painful, but I promise I'll guide you through this painlessly and you might even enjoy the LSAT afterwards. It's not as daunting as it sounds, and I'll work with you closely to make sure the style of teaching fits your needs for you to achieve your target score.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I have extensive experience crafting and reviewing personal statements that have helped applicants gain admission to competitive programs. My Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science from Vanderbilt University provided me with strong analytical and communication skills that I apply when helping students articulate their unique stories. During my time at Vanderbilt, I took several relevant courses in technical writing, communications & public speaking, and volunteered at the career center helping students craft resumes, personal statements, and cover letters. As Chief Operating Officer at Aloa, I've refined my ability to identify compelling narratives and present information persuasively - skills directly transferable to personal statement development. I've successfully reviewed personal statements for over 10 applicants who were subsequently admitted to prestigious colleges, medical schools, law schools, and surgical residencies. My background in both technical and creative writing enables me to guide students in balancing factual achievements with engaging storytelling. I excel at helping applicants identify their distinctive experiences and articulate them in ways that resonate with admissions committees while maintaining authentic voice and perspective.
