Hello, I'm Yu-Ning! I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, with minors in Math and Biology. My educational background equips me to tutor effectively in these subjects.
I began teaching in high school, where I taught English to elementary school children from Asian countries, both in a classroom setting during a service trip and later one-on-one via Zoom. I also tutored underclassmen in math and chemistry in an after-school program, focusing on personalized learning approaches to help students grasp complex concepts.
During college, I further specialized in chemistry. I worked as a lab assistant at the Chemistry Demonstration Lab, preparing and delivering models, equipment, and demonstrations for general and organic chemistry classes. My role included creating hands-on learning experiences to enhance student understanding and performing outreach demonstrations at local schools and libraries. Additionally, I served as a teaching assistant (TA) for an introductory chemistry lab course. I assisted students with lecture and lab material, created supplementary PowerPoint slides, organized classroom materials, and maintained a safe lab environment. I also communicated with faculty about student progress and proctored exams.
With several years of experience teaching students across different age groups and settings, I am well-prepared to tutor in science and math. My approach is student-centered, making learning both engaging and accessible.
