I am a Ph.D. student at The Ohio State University studying the Hebrew Bible in its Northwest Semitic linguistic context. I am interested in helping students at any stage engage, understand, and advance their knowledge of the Semitic languages, primarily Biblical Hebrew and Classical Arabic. My methodological approach to these languages derives from an historical and grammatical perspective in order to understand their essentials both synchronic and diachronically. I have also done graduate level coursework in other Semitic languages, such as, Akkadian, Imperial Aramaic, and Ugaritic. I also lived in the Middle East for several years and am fluent in Syro-Palestinan Arabic.
My background in tutoring consists of helping students who have struggled and fallen behind in their coursework with these languages. On multiple occasions I have helped these students, who at one point were failing, successfully pass their final exams, and the course altogether. It is my hope to help not only those who may be struggling, as so, but also to impart my love for these languages for students at all levels who want to deepen their knowledge of the rich history of these languages from a comparative Semitic linguistic perspective.
